Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

View all my reviews I finished this book in less than a day! It's got a great, if not simple, storyline, made addicting and beautiful by maggie's unique writing style, and really well-developed characters. (i liked Isabelle! and will dream about sam!!) Loved the new twist on the werewolf curse, and the fascination with temperature. I have (LINGER) the sequel already - thank goodness - and I'm reading it today!! Yup, it's that good!! On a side note: I'm rewarding myself with a weekend read-a-thon because yesterday I finished the rough draft to Dirty Blood!!! woot woot!

  1. Bravo! Congrats on finishing your rough draft. That's the biggest step in my opinion. Though I don't strictly speaking "enjoy" revising, it is nice to see the rough product take shape and become a real book.

    Best of luck to you!

  2. I cried at the end of Shiver! I also did one full day of reading Shiver and the next day to read Linger.

I am done with Megan's beta read. Now, onto homework. I wish I could spend the rest of the day reading another book, but school doesn't finish itself. Bummer!

Did you see that Jenn, Author Tiffany, and I were getting our celebratory drink on (albeit without you) for you finishing your draft yesterday?! You are soo close now! Whoo-hoo!

  3. Dangit. I'm such a slacker of a lush! I will remedy that at the first possible opportunity. let's reschedule it for this fri night when i will (hopefully) be delivering the rough draft to you for beta reading!! spread the word. It's about to be the first twitter drinkin party. =)

  4. I'm in for the first Twitter Drinking Party! CONGRATS on the rough draft. So inspiring! And thank you, as always, for stopping by Planet Jenn. You're such a sweet thang... Friday night. Twitter. Drinkie-poos. DATE NIGHT with the girls! Omigod, this is so great!

How do you guys find time to write AND be moms AND go on Twitter AND write blog posts AND read books for review AND AND AND ... Do tell. Operators are standing by to take your comments. (Well, one operator. Me. Alone. In a room. Okay, that's a lie. I'm at my friend's house. She's vacuuming. I'm still searching for typos and repetitive words words. Oops, there's one now.)

  5. Heather~ You still on for Friday night? Your latest post made it sound a bit uncertain. If you are then I will make an announcement for a Heather Celebratory Drinking Party on Twitter!!

  6. @Angeline - yeah I'm still on for Fri!! woot woot! spread the word. @Jenn - I am a multi-tasker til the end... that sounded good but really my only explanation is this: FULL DAY SCHOOL. My son started preschool this year so they are both gone during the day which is when I do all my writing and blogging and such. Notice errands, grocery shopping, etc didnt make that list though. haha. my hubby is so good to me. He does the grocery shopping most times because i hate it.
